Men of Emanuel (MOE) is a club that promotes the fellowship of the men of Temple Emanuel through social, service, and religious activities, always with Jewish values in mind.

Open to all men of the Temple Emanuel community, we use our nominal dues ($18 - or chai - per year) to support our events and activities. We host social events such as community-wide breakfasts and the men's monthly poker game; we raise funds for Jewish camp scholarships and other causes; and we do hands-on support work, such as setting up and taking down the Temple Sukkah.

If that sounds interesting to you, we'd love to have you on board. Just click on this link, and we'll be in touch.

Who we are...

We are just a group of guys who enjoy good times together and help out Temple Emanuel of Tempe in many ways.

We started in 2007 with the idea that we should make membership as easy and enjoyable as possible. That’s why we focus on providing activities that men of the Temple can enjoy together.

Membership is just $18 a year. If you’d like to join us click this link.

What we do...

We have done everything from going to baseball games as a group to enjoying an afternoon at a shooting range or meeting at the local pub to catch a football game.  We’ve bowled, golfed, and have been known to hold the occasional Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournament.

We are up for anything that we can do together and we’re always looking for new ideas and people who can make things happen!

How we help...

From schlepping for High Holiday services to cleaning up the Temple grounds and subbing for custodial staff on their religious holidays to setting up a basketball hoop for the kids, MOE members have been there to help.

We also do the following on a regular basis when the Temple is open:

●Every Sunday that religious school is in session and the Temple lobby is open, MOE runs Cafe Emanuel, selling bagels, coffee, and other breakfast-type fares to benefit Jewish camp scholarships for Temple kids.

●Along with Temple Emanuel Sisterhood, MOE provides Kiddush cups as gifts to our b'nai mitzvah kids.

●MOE donates and grills food for the Temple Purim Festival.

●MOE coordinates three blood drives at the Temple each year.

Something to look forward to...
